Who are we looking for?
We are looking to hire an Accountant to join our team to run our accounting department. Reporting to the COO the successful candidate will be responsible for managing full-cycle accounting, ensuring billing response and resolution times are met, and looking to take on challenging assignments to develop their professional capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination, and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary.
  • Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation, and analysis
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Oversee taxes and abide by federal and provincial regulations
  • Assist with the development, documentation, and implementation of adequate controls, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain a strong financial analysis foundation by tracking data trends for creating forecasts and models
  • Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking
  • Participate in special projects to improve process efficiency and performance
  • Financial modeling for new business opportunities
  • Ad-hoc tasks as required

Job Qualifications:

  • 2+ Years Experience in full-cycle accounting
  • Proficient in Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
  • Bachelors in Accounting & Finance
  • Enrollment in the CPA program is an asset
  • Excellent organizing abilities
  • Great attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant accounting software
